Default The Unseen City Lore

So little is known about this place and with this obey and dismantle going on I decided to make a nerdy lore on the background. So many things are left untied on the Unseen lore, one of the coolest foes ever, yes ever, and they are disregarded a lot (*Points finger at Regina because there is no one else to point at*). So I took a crack at making a lore about the history and creation of the Mursaat and Titans. Their clash and what not.
Because it's 2:30am I'm turning in possibly half done work, I don't know for sure as my dyslexia makes it hard to read what I write. So feel free to revise.
This is suppose to be like textbook or wiki style so don't expect over the top action. Fair warning.

Lore of Janthir the Lightsworn god,

250 BE mankind has just established on the land of Tyria. The lush land is ruled by the gods with the ability to create and destroy. After the Battle at Arah City, the grand gods are known as Dwayna, Balthazar, Grenth, Melandru and Lyssa. The accursed gods are Dhuum, Abaddon, Menzies and Janthir.

Janthir is often disregarded as a god, unlike his immortal brethren, he lacked the ability to create and destroy, and instead, he holds the powerful ability of reconstruct. Changing creations that already exist into his will, because of this; he is the weakest of the gods with no abilities of offensive or defensive spells. Only his creations can fight well.

Janthir settled on a city he created, making the large buildings out of the stone, citizens out of the life that surrounds him. The city was named after him, Janthir. A few years as past, humans envied the large city and eventually moved in. One human woman, named Ullen, Janthir grew very fondly of her and eventually bared a half immortal son named Komalie. Janthir quickly became a hero to the people, giving him the title of Lightsworn, meaning the never abandoning banisher of darkness. Always solving any problem that comes across in the magnificent city, Janthir the Lightsworn grown very popular across the land.

As more humans settled his the city of Janthir, many malicious rumors came with. The gods do not see Janthir as a god, if fact, they see him as an affliction that changes their creations and not a true god. Enraged, Janthir traveled to Arah, the city for gods and approached Dwayna on the problem. As Janthir feared, not only the rumors were true but the gods will imprison Janthir if his city continues to grow by using his powers to reconstruct. Outraged on his restriction of his powers, Janthir attacked Dwayna and transforms some of the god’s powers into a staff that amplifies his own power of reconstruction. Even with the powers of the god crippled and the staff he wields, Janthir was forced to retreat back to his city.

Janthir feared not only for his life but for his city, so Janthir cloaks the city from view, to be hidden from the god’s revenge. The cloak won't trick the gods forever, Janthir needed help to solve the problem the of the gods possible rampage. Only the artifact, the Eye of Janthir that he created can observe past the Unseen city. Abaddon, approaches the eye and demands to speak with Janthir about overthrowing the gods.

Dhuum, Abaddon, Grenth and Menzies needed a massive army to take down the gods, with Dwayna’s staff amplifying his powers; Janthir agrees to take down the gods. So that his Unseen city can thrive once again. The great armies were erected, Janthir created a massive horde of powerful monstrosities called Mursaat. They will cause chaos to the living creatures of Tyria. Abaddon with his generals, Kanaxai, Mallyx and Urgoz will hold obelisks in battle. Dhuum, Grenth and Menzies will take on the rest of the gods themselves. A seemingly flawless strategy, holding the gods creations hostage allowing the three powerful gods to turn the table in battle on the remaining four.

Before the take over, Janthir returns to his city to recruit his son for the war. His son, Komalie has abilities of strong reconstruction beyond measure. Half god yet his strength of his creations surpass his fathers. Although having eternal youth he can still die by a blade in battle. Komalie creates his signature Titan army and joins the force.

War broke out; the great battle of Arah has begun. Shortly into the battle, Grenth claims that he confronted Balthazar and lost. So Grenth sent a messenger to inform him Janthir and ask him to break the spell bind holding his powers. Janthir, abandons his post to rescue Grenth, leaving Komalie to his army. The powerful spell bind was quickly shattered, Janthir reconstructed the sealing magic, into the exact opposite, a staff that can break any seal. He than hands the scepter to Grenth in order to protect him. Unfortunately, Grenth immediately betrays Janthir, tricking him to submit and to leave his only son alone in battle.

Balthazar rams through the army lines straight to Komalie and holds him hostage, Grenth gave Janthir a deal, dismantle his entire army and his life will not be imprisoned in a world of eternal anguish. The so called war quickly became a one failed battle. With the massive army created by Janthir and his son was demolished by himself, Dhuum and Menzies was sealed away by the abilities of Lyssa, Dwayna, Grenth, Balthazar and Melandru with no one to assist them. Abaddons generals Kanaxai and Urgoz fled from battle leaving Mallyx to fall along with Abaddon.

Janthir approached the gods for forgiveness on his actions. The five gods decided to spare Janthir from imprisonment for his corporation in the battle, but his city and people will not be spared and must be destroyed. He has three days to say goodbye before the gods slaughter his beloved home town. On the second day, he plans to flee from his city taking his wife and son to an island where they may remain hidden. Komalie refuses, and challenges his father to a fight. Whoever wins will become the leader of Janthir and decides how to deal with the gods. They battled on the Ring of Fire Island, an entire day passes, Janthir still stands tall while the half immortal Komalie is exhausting as time passes. Janthir finishes his only son and seals him away in another world. A door that holds his imprisonment, as powerful as Komalie was with the ability to construct a Titan army he cannot break his fathers seal.

Returning back to Janthir City, just to tell his wife the news of everyone’s destruction in just a few hours. Driven by grief of her son’s death and their benevolent city will fall, Ullen offers her life as material to be reconstructed. Her soul will keep the city hidden from the god’s wrath. Janthir agrees and reconstructs his wife into a calm river that fog will never fade, always keeping the city Unseen.

The staffs Janthir obtains, one with Dwanya’s powers and the powerful spell bind breaker alters in name. Dwanya’s staff disappears in battle at the attempted take over the gods, it is renamed the Staff of the Mists as its powers reflects extraordinary healing. The staff used to break powerful spells was giving to the people of Orr, renamed the Staff of Orr. These became sister staffs and both can be found in the game.

The Titans, are the powerful constructs of Komalie who seeks revenge on his father. Abaddon tricks Viser to release Komalies prison, so they can rise together. Janthir soldiers and guardians, or Mursaat and Jade constructs, tries to protect the seal to Komalies prison but fails when the players destroy it. Fortunately the door is once again locked by the players but Janthir does not forgive them for foolishly helping a person trying to destroy the world. Tricked or not. Janthir powerful creations will never ally with the Heroes of Tyria.

Janthir also assisted Saul with troops who simply stumbled into the Unseen city. Because Saul spoke of the cities whereabouts to some of his followers, Saul and some of his allies can never leave the Unseen city. Komalie still seeks revenge on his father; if his powerful son caught word of the location of the Janthir City without a doubt will cause mass chaos to the people that Janthir is trying to protect.

Janthir the Lightsworn still protects his Unseen city, assisting the White Mantle with troops to avoid the return of his son.

Arah is also the City of Orr. The name was changed when the gods left.
Ullen River is near Riverside Province, the game also calls it the Dark River.
